The Hellsblood story has its roots in the African Yoruba religion of Santeria. Heavily practiced in Cuba it has spread far and wide, particularly amongst Afro-Caribbean populations. In the Hells blood series the demon Burucu- Aja materializes in Massachusetts with his minions. They're on the hunt for Hector a pre-ordained emissary of God soon to become a being known as the Balance. Burucu-Aja is tasked with making sure the unwitting emissary doesn’t live long enough to inherit that power. Released in 2009 Artist Hector Rodriguez’s Hells Blood is chockfull of great characters and reads like some of the best supernatural horror of the time but more than that Hells Blood is a story with deep heart and great art!!
