John Horsley: Seattle's Indie Comic Virtuoso

by Matthew Russell - Posted seconds ago

As someone who hails from the Seattle area and honed my basketball skills in Tacoma, it's a distinct pleasure to feature a creator from my old stomping grounds: John Horsley, also known as @y2cl. John has been a dynamic force in the indie comics scene, blending his artistic talents with a passion for storytelling.

John's foray into the world of comics began with a personal challenge: to write, draw, letter, and color a comic page every day for a year. This ambitious project, known as "y2cl-Daily," not only showcased his dedication but also his ability to produce engaging content consistently.

Beyond his work as a creator, John co-founded the "Spoiler Country" podcast, where he engages in conversations about comics, movies, and pop culture, often featuring interviews with creators from various industries. This platform has become a valuable resource for fans and fellow creators alike.

John's Notable Works

John's diverse portfolio is an absolute testament to his versatility and commitment to the craft. Here are some of his notable works:

The Eynes Anthology

A collaborative project, this anthology brings together various artists and writers to tell interconnected stories of a family cursed through generations, blending elements of horror, fantasy, and drama.

The nonsense intensifies as Jonly Nonly pushes the limits of comedy and comic book absurdity. Strange happenings, unexpected guest stars, and jokes that may or may not make sense—what more could you ask for?
