Welcome, my CryptoComics Compatriots—buckle up and prepare for takeoff, because we’re soaring into the incredible works of Valerie Finnigan!
We are beyond excited to feature our good friend and talented comic creator, Valerie Finnigan! She has a gift for bringing history to life through compelling storytelling, and two of her standout works—The Wasp and Tiger on the Storm—highlight the bravery and sacrifice of real-life heroes.
We've had the pleasure of hosting Valerie on our YouTube channel several times, where she's shared her insights on writing and historical research. She’s been an amazing friend to us, and we’ve even met her in person at events like Free Comic Book Day. I personally own a signed copy of The Wasp from one of her signings—an absolute treasure in my collection!
The Wasp tells the incredible story of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) during World War II. These trailblazing women took to the skies, testing aircraft, ferrying planes, and training male pilots, all while fighting for their right to serve. Valerie masterfully captures their struggles and triumphs, making this a must-read for anyone who loves aviation history and strong female protagonists.
Step into the cockpit with the Women Airforce Service Pilots as they take flight in World War II! This debut issue introduces the courageous women who defied expectations, mastered military aircraft, and paved the way for future generations of female pilots.
Another standout series from Valerie, Tiger on the Storm, is based on the journal of the late Maj. Gen. David Sawyer and honors the 23rd Tactical Fighter Wing's service during Operation: Desert Storm. This series immerses readers in the high-stakes world of aerial warfare, following the pilots and crew through real missions, challenges, and victories.
We currently have Issues 1-3 available, and each one is packed with action, history, and stunning artwork. Below, you’ll find the covers along with a brief description of each issue.
Valerie Finnigan’s work is a testament to the power of comics as a medium for storytelling, education, and honoring those who served. Whether you're fascinated by World War II's pioneering female pilots or the modern-day heroes of Desert Storm, her books are a must-read.
